Two and half years after building the world’s first AI interview and establishing the AI-moderated research category, we’re thrilled to announce the next chapter of our journey: Our Series A fundraise led by 8VC.

We’ve always been focused on one thing: better understanding humans.

By leveraging LLMs to build the world’s first AI-interviewer, we’ve made incredible strides helping big enterprises — like WeightWatchers, Nestle, and Microsoft — do exactly that. Better understand their customers (i.e. humans).

With Outset, research teams are able to conduct in-depth qualitative research at a speed and scale that’s never before been possible. They simply build a discussion guide and watch the Outset moderator run in-depth interviews, concept tests, and usability sessions. Afterwards, Outset’s analytics engine will surface what matters most for the business.

With this investment, we will be doubling down on our focus. We are expanding our go-to-market team to help our ever-growing customer base adopt AI-moderated research and growing our engineering team to build better, faster, and deeper AI agents.

Everyone in any organization — researchers and beyond — should be able to understand the people they serve faster, deeper, and at a larger scale than ever before.

AI shouldn’t replace human connection — rather, it should deepen our understanding of humans so we can build products, services, and experiences that are more human than ever.
